Consultations

Medical- Examination, diagnosis, treatment plan, and prescriptions for dermatological conditions such as alopecia (hair loss), acne, rosacea, melasma, etc. *Please click on the 'Medical Dermatology' tab for full details

Neuromodulators (Botox/Dysport)

For prevention and/or treatment of dynamic lines, lines or wrinkles seen with facial expression. Also used for treatment of hyperhidrosis which is excessive sweating of armpits, palms of hands, or soles of feet and treatment of TMJ.

Dermal Fillers (Juvederm/Restylane Products)

Hyaluronic acid based, gel-like substance injected into various locations of the face, neck, or hands for more optimized, youthful, or symmetric appearance.

Sculptra

This product is derived from beets and is a safe way to restore age or illness related volume loss, lift, and tone. Can also create new volume in areas of desire such as face and buttocks, or areas of skin laxity such as face, elbows, knees, or hands.

Kybella

FDA approved to dissolve submental fat, often known as the “double chin”, a product that does its job extremely well when dosed correctly.

PRFM

A step better than PRP, Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix is a natural way to correct under eye deficits, reduce scarring, and regrow hair in places of loss by using your own plasma. This can be injected into the scalp, undereye, individual scars, or as a topical add-on during microneedling treatment.

Sclerotherapy (Asclera)

FDA approved injectable for the treatment of spider and reticular veins in the lower extremities.

Laser Tattoo Removal

The use of Pico laser technology for tattoo fading and pigmentation removal including permanent makeup and naturally occurring hyperpigmentation of the skin. Pricing varies by size, so please book an aesthetic consult if interested in this treatment.

Cool Co2 Fractional Laser

Ablative, non-ablative, or mixed resurfacing of the skin, for extreme results and complete customization. Patient needs and risks vary greatly. Thus, consultation is required for accurate pricing and plan, prior to booking with the provider.

Dermatology Appointment

Anything from a full body skin exam, to acute and chronic dermatological conditions.

Electrocautery/Electrodessication

Non-exclusive examples: cherry angiomas, acrochordons (skin tags), etc.

Cryotherapy

Ex. warts, seborrheic keratoses, etc.

Intralesional Triamcinolone/Corticosteroid Injections

Ex. acne, cyst, alopecia areata, keloid scars

Subcision for Acne Scars

Minor facial procedure which releases the adhesion creating the acne scar from the underlying tissue. Dermal fillers or PRFM can be placed thereafter to help prevent the scar from reforming over time.

Nail Removal

Fingernail or toenail, partial (with acid) or entire nail. Often done for ingrowing, infected, or dystrophic nail.

Shave Removal/Biopsy, Punch Removal/Biopsy, Cyst Removal

Excision

Full surgical removal of skin cancers and other lesions which can be done as an in-office procedure. The specimen must then be sent to the dermatopathologist to evaluate and ensure clear margins.

Dermatopathologist Report

*All specimens retrieved at Anew Aesthetics & Dermatology by Physician Assistants, Inc. will be sent to UCD Dermatopathologist Department for prompt evaluation. UCD can bill the patient or their insurance directly according to patient preference. They offer competitive pricing and phenomenal expertise. Reports are typically available after one full working day. Any special stains or testing required for diagnosis will not be charged prior to patient approval.

Microneedling (SkinPen)

This device delivers precise micro injuries to the skin which, in response, causes new collagen formation thus improving tone, tightening, and texture of the skin. Each treatment with this device vastly reduces the appearance of acne and other scarring, sun damage, hyperpigmentation as well as reduction of fine lines and pore size.

Carbon Laser Facial

Often referred to as a “Hollywood Facial” this is a painless treatment that uses a topical charcoal film and an nd-Yag laser and a to vaporize impurities, oils and dead skin cells, tighten pores, and give a refreshed glow.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

RhodoLED red light therapy or Celluma Face mixed light therapy, with or without the use of aminolevulinic acid 10% gel (Ameluz brand) to treat precancerous lesions, such as diffuse actinic keratoses (AKs), some superficial skin cancers, moderate to severe acneic conditions, hormonal papulopustular rosacea, hypertrophic scars, hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), anti-ageing effects, wound healing, bruise resolution, and hair restoration adjunct therapy. Treatment sessions using light therapy for non-invasive treatment to promote collagen and elastin production, increase circulation, reduce inflammation, redness, and effectively treat a variety of age and skin-related conditions.

Medical facial add-ons can include:

PRFM (see info under ‘Aesthetics’ tab), Jessner’s Peel, TCA Peel, dermaplaning, cupping, extractions, microderm abrasion scrubs, etc. the best treatment plan will be discussed in advance with your provider during a consultation.

B12 Injection

Crucial for cellular growth and repair of hair follicles, collagen production by the skin, and keratin formation for healthy nails.

MIC-B

The natural alternative to weight management. For healthy loss and metabolism as well as liver detoxification, strengthening of the skin cell membranes, boosting antioxidant defenses, and regulation of hormone/insulin signaling.

Biotin

Great for aiding in more rapid growth of healthy hair and nails, can be used as adjunct therapy for treating onychomycosis (nail fungus).

Ascorbic Acid

Vitamin C helps even skin tone by reducing brown pigmentation and gives a lustrous glow.

Vitamin D

Heather Valasek DMSc, PA-C of Anew Aesthetics & Dermatology by Physician Assistants, Inc. in Los Osos

Heather Valasek is a Doctor of Medical Science as well as a board-certified and fellowship- trained Dermatology Physician Associate. She is a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology PAs and has trained many other PAs in the fields of urgent care, aesthetics, and medical dermatology.

Always interested in healthcare, Heather worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant after high school, a Rehabilitation Technician, and later went on to be an Emergency Medical Technician working on the ambulance prior to obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Dallas. Certain that she wanted to pursue medicine further, she shadowed two Dermatology Physician Assistants/Associates directly after her undergraduate education.

Dealing with her own rare and chronic skin condition, acne conglobata, Heather knew she would want to help patients who suffer psychologically as well as physically from dermatological concerns. While working on her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of California, Davis, Heather was involved in a student-run clinic. Her very first patient needed treatment for a skin condition. Tears of empathy and joy welled up inside her as she realized in that moment that her true calling would be fulfilled in helping patients suffering from skin conditions.

After graduation from UC Davis PA Program, she immediately began working two separate positions, one in Urgent Care and also in Medical Aesthetics. She then furthered her dermatological education by completing a fellowship and becoming a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. As a specialist in her field, Heather began working as the sole provider in a high-volume dermatology clinic in the Central Valley.

After giving birth to her first-born son, and relocating to the Central Coast, she decided it was finally time to open her own practice so that more people in the area could have access to high-quality dermatological care without excessive wait times.

As a practice owner and new mother, she decided to further her education by receiving a doctoral degree in Medical Science. Her goal is to pass on her knowledge, research, and clinical experience to her patients. She hopes that each patient leaves her office feeling more confident, hopeful, and informed after each appointment.

2024- Our Glow Up winner was 65-year-old, Paula. A gorgeous woman, inside and out, who has dedicated the last 11 years to providing 24/7, 365 care to her mother with dementia. 2026- April is on track to graduate with her Bachelor's degree in Nursing later this year (2026). She currently works nights while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and alternates childcare hours with her husband to take care of their toddler. Her husband nominated her as a way to show his appreciation for her working tirelessly in all that she does. April always puts others' needs ahead of her own, now it’s her turn for some TLC. We decided to rejuvenate her skin with photodynamic therapy (PDT) and microneedling (SkinPen), then give her fuller lips with Restylane Kysse and smooth out the peau d'orange chin with Restylane Silk.
